The holidays are coming (well, it’s less than ten weeks until Christmas!), and we are already compiling our Christmas lists! Is that OK? We think it is! One thing that we love to unwrap on Christmas morning is a glossy coffee table book, full of beautiful photographs that we can spend the morning pouring over. Read on to discover the books that we are currently coveting.
You Left Your Ring on the Floor of my Bedroom – Valerie Phillips
London-based photographer, Phillips is renowned for her gritty photographs and the edgy models that she uses, often shooting them without makeup and wearing their own clothes.
For her latest tome, she scouted her model, Sara on Instagram and subsequently paid for her to fly to the UK to shoot the book together. Problems arose when the authorities at the airport couldn’t comprehend why Sara would fly across the world to work for free and why Valerie needed to fly in a model from the States.
Sara was eventually released into Valerie’s custody for just twelve short hours before she would have to fly home, and the duo took advantage of the short time they had together to run amok in Kentish Town and shoot the book together.
The resulting images perfectly encapsulate the intensity of that night, showcasing Sara dressing up in Valerie’s home in all of the outfits in her suitcase before dancing through the streets of London.

The Kinfolk Home
If wild nights out aren’t your bag, perhaps a cosy peek inside the homes of stylish creatives is. The latest hardback offering from Kinfolk showcases the homes of 35 individuals around the world that perfectly encapsulate the pioneering magazine’s slow living concept.
The book travels across the world, from America to Asia, via Europe, and features people from all walks of life, including designers, entrepreneurs and stylists.
Rather than simply featuring a collection of photographs of interiors, The Kinfolk Home presents the stories and the people behind the rooms.
Discover why they decided to decorate their homes as they did, and how the interiors that they live in have shaped their households.
We guarantee you’ll want to redecorate after reading this.
